Hackathon announcement
We are delighted to announce that a new edition of the WestMED Hackathons on project development will take place on 30 June 2022 under the Maltese and Libyan Co-Presidency of the WestMED Initiative. Please mark this date on your calendars!
This event will also mark the end of the WestMED in my country campaign, where National Events in the countries concerned will be taking place during May and June.
The main outcomes and summary conclusions of those events will be presented, thus allowing to get a full picture of what stakeholders really consider important and critical for the development of the sustainable blue economy in their countries and in the region as a whole!
Themes for the Hackathons on project development will include the five main topics as currently discussed in the WestMED: Green Shipping and Ports, Aquaculture, Maritime clusters, Tourism and Blue skills.
In this way, structured sessions around concrete project ideas and topics to define future projects will take place, also looking at concrete funding opportunities and open/future calls for proposals.
Maritime Spatial Planning will be discussed in a dedicated session to outline concrete ways forwards in the region at technical level, involving relevant organisations and projects such a IOC-UNESCO, the EU MSP Platform and the MSP-MED Project: Towards the operational implementation of MSP in our common Mediterranean Sea
The Conference will take place physically in La Valetta, Malta, and will partially be live streamed to allow for broader participation.
More information and a preliminary agenda will come your way very soon, so stay tuned!
